Vitamin C (Ascorbic acid) is a water-soluble vitamin. It looks like a white or slightly yellow crystal or powder with a slightly acidic taste. It is an anti-scorbutic product. The Ascorbic acid (Vitamin C) is L-ascorbic Acid (Chemical Name) and its empirical formula is C6H806, and the molecular weight is 176.13.

Ascorbic acid (vitamin C) is used to prevent/treat low levels of vitamin C in people who do not get enough of the vitamin from their diets. Most of the people who eat a normal diet do not need extra ascorbic acid. Low levels of vitamin C can result in scurvy where the body gets inflicted with weakness, fatigue, bleeding gums, and rashes. However, Intake of high amounts of vitamin C can lead to adverse effects on your body, such as digestive distress and kidney stones. That is because if you overload your body with larger-than-normal doses of this vitamin, it will start to accumulate, potentially leading to overdose symptoms and might cause diarrhea, Nausea, and Vomiting
